Five Thursday Sessions
5:30 – 7:30 EST
Dates: 4/30 – 5/28
This weekly workshop is for advanced fiction writers who’ve made it past the planning and plotting, through the messy middle, and are writing to the end of their novel or short story collection. The “advanced” writer is someone who has workshop experience and is currently at work on a novel or short stories. Using examples from classic and contemporary writers, we’ll consider the essential craft elements of fiction writing in a workshop environment where each participant will have the opportunity to share their own work and offer considerate and respectful feedback on others. This workshop is open to writers of all genres of fiction.
In this workshop you can expect:
- Respectful in-class discussion of the participants’ material.
- Discussion of craft elements in fiction writing, such as character, structure, plot, pacing, and dialogue.
- Thoughtful feedback and encouragement on your work in progress with a view to elevating your writing.
Please come prepared to share five pages per week to read aloud to the class for discussion.
Application required for registration.
