Dates: 9/15 – 10/20
THIS CLASS TAKES PLACE IN SIMSBURY, CT AT THE COFFEE SPOT
In this fiction-writing workshop geared to fourth through sixth graders, students will write to prompts designed to spark ideas and illuminate the foundations of writing fiction (i.e. plot, characters, setting and point of view). Students will be encouraged to share and workshop their writing in a supportive, encouraging environment, and will leave with the tools and inspiration to write their own stories.
In this workshop, you can expect:
- Imaginative prompts to spark your creativity and help generate story ideas
- To learn the foundations of writing fiction, including plot, setting, character and point of view
- To learn to give constructive and encouraging writing feedback to your peers
- To receive feedback on your writing from the instructor and other students
- To leave with ideas and inspiration for future creative writing projects (and depending on your goals, the beginnings of a short story or novel.)
