Seven Tuesday Sessions
10:30 – 12:30 EST
Dates: 4/7 – 5/26 (OFF 4/14)
The personal essay is a notoriously wide-ranging form with some authors relying heavily on the narrative techniques of fiction and others rooted more firmly in the traditions of journalism. This workshop is suited for writers working on personal essays of all kinds! We’ll begin each week with a brief prompt and discussion of a published piece with an aim to look at the variety of styles, structures, and techniques the form employs. In the second half of class each week, students will have the opportunity to share pages from work-in-progress and get feedback from the class and instructor.
