12 Wednesday Sessions
9 – 10 AM EST
ONLINE OR IN PERSON
Julia Cameron wrote The Artist’s Way as a guide to help people reconnect with their creativity. The book came out of her own experiences as a writer, artist, and filmmaker, as well as her journey through recovery from addiction. She originally developed the concepts in the book as a course to help artists and writers overcome creative blocks, self-doubt, and limiting beliefs. Cameron believes that creativity is a spiritual practice and that everyone has innate creative potential. In the book she provides tools like Morning Pages and Artist Dates to help people break through fear and self-criticism, allowing their creativity to flow more freely. The book helps empower people to rediscover joy in the creative process, whether they are professional artists or just seeking more creative fulfillment in life.
This class will focus on unlocking creativity, overcoming self-doubt, and developing a regular writing practice. Each week will focus on one chapter/theme from the book. Students will explore creativity through journaling, writing exercises, and discussion.
