SUMMARY:Int/Adv Fiction
DESCRIPTION:Seven Monday Sessions \n10 AM – 12:30 PM EST \nDates: 4/6 – 6/1 (OFF 4/13 & 5/25) \n  \nThe most successful writers have a network of peers weighing in on their manuscripts and\, more generally\, pulling for them. In my class\, I seek to create this same nurturing\, collaborative atmosphere. Each week\, you’ll share a brief excerpt of up to five double-spaced pages from an ongoing project — a novel or short story — and I’ll lead a constructive discussion of the manuscript\, highlighting its positive aspects and suggesting ways to improve it. If time allows\, there may also be general discussions of craft and some in-class writing.   Open to writers who have had at least a year of previous workshop experience and who are working on a novel or short stories. \n  \nIn this class\, writers can expect: \n\nTo gain new insights into what you’re doing well in terms of craft\nTo identify what aspects of your work you might strengthen\nTo refine your narrative arc\nTo find a nurturing atmosphere with like-minded peers\nTo learn about different approaches to the writing and editing process\n\n
