“Are you writing workshop curious? New to writing workshop, or looking to dust off the cobwebs and begin your writing life anew? Then this class is for you. Open to those writing fiction, non-fiction and everything in between, this class will introduce the basics of craft, the mechanics of writing workshop, and bring inspiration, instruction, and accountability to your weekly writing practice. Writers will submit a few pages each week, write in class to prompts, and give each other feedback. You will leave this seven week class empowered by this introduction, or re-introduction, to all that a workshop can offer your writing.

About the Instructor...

Julie Sarkissian is the author of Dear Lucy, published by Simon and Schuster and nominated for the Dylan Thomas Prize. Her essays, short fiction and book reviews have appeared in The New York Times, Tin House, The Huffington Post, The New York Observer, and Flavorwire, among others. Born and raised in Southern California, she has a BA in English from Princeton and an MFA from The New School. She worked for Sackett Street Writers in Brooklyn, NY as a fiction instructor and manuscript consultant before moving to Westport, CT with husband and two young children.
