The early stages of writing a book can be the most exciting and the most daunting. But if you’re ready to make it official and say “I’m writing a book!” then this is the workshop for you. Bring your nascent beginnings and inchoate pages to this two hour workshop and explore questions such as what is the focus of my book? Do these pages belong in my book? Who is the main character? What is my central conflict? How can I stay open to creative possibilities while working with intention on a project?

Open to all genres. Must have previous workshop experience. Must be ready to say “I’m really doing it! I’m writing a book!”

Students can expect:

  • To receive and give feedback on 1,200 words each week that is focused on big picture development
  • To focus on the creative process focused on the project as a whole
  • Discussions of how the early stages of writing a book can differ from later stages
